The Making of the Upton Park Courts

In the summer of 2014 the City of Royal Oak gave our pickleball community two tennis courts that had not been kept up. We spent countless hours converting them into 7 pickleball courts plus a seating area for waiting players.

In the fall of 2014 we applied the base coat, and we finished the work in the spring of 2015. With the exception of installing the fencing, the work was all done by the players and was funded by the proceeds from our annual tournament, our ladder leagues, and donations.

Thank You to all who helped on this project!
