2024-2025 Leagues and Mixers

2024 outdoor season –

Throughout the summer of 2024, SMPA plans a total of 16 pickleball ladder leagues, 4 mixers, 2-4 sets of beginners’ practice sessions (not lessons! – rather mixer sets just for those who know the basics and need protected practice away from high level players), 3 mini-tournaments, and, of course, our 14th annual ROyal Oak CLassic Pickleball Tournament in late August! Stay tuned for the launch of session 1 (mid May – mid/late July) leagues, which we expect to come out in early April!! As always, SMPA leagues are open only to SMPA members. But SMPA membership is just $25, and is available for purchase on the JOIN page of this website. And please note: players with unvetted self-ratings are required to demonstrate their playing levels prior to receiving spots on any SMPA league; SMPA league spots are given out using a lottery system to maintain fairness to all due to that we have more registrants each summer than we have spots.

2023-2024 Leagues and Mixers

2023 outdoor season –

Throughout the summer of 2023, SMPA held a total of 17 pickleball ladder leagues which served a total of 522 players! We also held approximately monthly Sat night pickleball mixers for up to 48 players each at Whittier Park, and – especially early in the summer, these were frequently full!

2023-2024 indoor season –

SMPA offerred nine pickleball ladder leagues serving 300 total players at three partner locations for the Oct 2023 – April 2024 indoor playing season!
Peachtree Tennis Club: for the 3rd year in a row we offerred our popular Friday pm league at Peachtree. We formerly also held a Sunday pm league at Peachtree, but have lost that timeslot to a competitor, who disappointingly is one of our own board members competing directly with us to the detriment of SMPA’s membership and the organization itself. At Peachtree, we also offered approximately monthly Sat night mixers.
Wessen Indoor Tennis Club – for the second year in a row we offered our Thursday pm Night Owls league at Wessen.
Troy Racquet Club – we debuted our first ever indoor daytime league with our new TRC partnership! At TRC, we held our Friday afternoon league, which uses a no-subs format. We also held three indoor mixers at TRC this indoor playing season. πŸ™‚

If you are interested in becoming a league sub, you may do so by emailing ropbmastersublist@gmail.com w/ your name, phone#, email address, playing level, & for which league(s) you want to sub:)
NOTE: While SMPA membership is not required of league subs, it is encouraged as we’re actively fundraising to build more pickleball courts over the next few years!!
SMPA membership will likely be required of subs in 2024, fyi, and memberships purchased now are valid through Oct 2024.
